| Week 9 Assignment Status: Gusto was terminated on 9/16/02. Week 8 Assignment Status: Voted To Fire: Lancer Task: Question: Opinion Response: First I would crumple up the envelope and papers a little. Then... "Bossman, in an effort to support the company's Commute Trip Reduction efforts, I decided to take the subway to do my errnads today. A scruffy looking street punk grabbed the envelope from me and tried to make off with it. Since I knew they were important papers, I singlehandedly wrestled him to the ground and got the information back. Sorry about the stains, the subway floor is pretty gross, but its better than the documents being in the wrong hands." Week 7 Assignment Status: Voted To Fire: Rowan Task: Question: Opinion Response: It's tempting...but...asuuming we split it 50/50, which is doubtful, that's only 250k. At a meager salary of 50k a year, that's only 5 years worth of cash. No thanks. I would play along at first and build up good evidence against him. When in striking distance, I'd blow the whistle, get a few kudos from Bossman and get him back on my good side after threatenening to sue over the baseball incident. Week 6 Assignment Status: Voted To Fire: Zeeee Task: Question: Opinion Response: "uuhhh...where am I? Still at work? Is that you Bossman? Oh, its an employer sponsored function? I see. All I remember is that malicious grin you had on your face before you let loose on me. I hope this doesn't affect our professional relationship, but I'm going to need a week off to see my doctor and probably meet with my lawyers. Two weeks? Yeah you're probably right. With full pay I expect. No, no hard feelings, I'll see you in two weeks when I'm feeling up to par. Week 5 Assignment Status: Voted To Fire: Nobody (off this week) Task: Question: Opinion Response: I just finished up with the business meeting, it went so well that I called my wife to come out and celebrate. She was entertaining the neighbors, so I invited them all over. Trust me I paid for the celebration out of my own pocket. Out of curiosity Bossman, I wonder how often what's his name (the snitch) has "business meetings" at that restaurant. If I remember correctly, he was there by himself. I'd be happy to go over the recent expense account activity and double check his work. Week 4 Assignment Status: Voted To Fire: Testpod Task: Question: Opinion Response: "Sorry I'm late Bossman. The guy at the Associate Mental Health and Well Being Emergency Line just wouldn't let me off the phone. I'd be happy to telecommunte next monday to make up for it." Week 3 Assignment Status: Voted To Fire: Had Monday off last week, no vote Task: Question: Opinion Response: "Bossman, I didn't want to tell anyone for fear of the wrong people finding out, but...the truth is...I'm not really going to the Bahamas. I managed to convince Joe Bob's Consulting LLC Inc. Ltd. (our most fearsome rival) that I am a highly promising prospective client. They agreed to have me down to Atlanta for a site visit, to get more comfortable with my investment choices. If the rest of the department could limp along without me for just 2 work days, I guarantee I will return with priceless inside information on the competition. I know I haven't officially taken a vacation in over 3 years, but I am certain that the information I can get to benefit our company will be well worth the sacrifice of a measley 96 hours of personal, non-constructive lounging I would be missing. " Week 2 Assignment Status: Voted To Fire: Sam Task: Question: Opinion Response: I would tell him that corporate asked me to put together a focus group to look into process improvement. The project will go for 6 months and they need very dedicated associates. I ask my boss to recommend 8 people (as there are 10 others in my department) for the group. So I've narrowed it down to the 2 he did not recommend. A few days later I invite him out for a 'Team Building' night out with his department, where, oddly enough, I am the only one that shows up. After a few Steinlagers and some $12 a glass scotch, I broach the subject and get a drunken confirmation of my suspicion. Week 1 Assignment Status: Voted To Fire: Had Monday off last week, no vote Task: Question: Opinion Response: I was running down to the mail room to FedEx a copy of the specs for that new client that Jones signed. I didn't have an envelope, but luckily the FedEx guy was right there. So I filled it out while he waited. Just then the Airborne guy drove up checking to see if we had anything going out, he was all upset about having a bad day or something. He grabbed the envelope from my hand and started shoving it in an Airborne envelope. The FedEx guy was like, 'What the @$#!,' and they started brawling, throwing their clipboards and pens at each other. Then the Airborne guy got back in his truck, grabbed the ashtray, chucked it at the FedEx guy and sped off...with my specs! I couldn't beleive it. I kicked the butts into a discrete pile for the maintenance guy to clean up. You should really speak to someone at Airborne about their professionalism. Oooh, I wish I had that guy's name. Registration Question: "Your best friend (and co-worker) has been seen idling at the mall on company time by the company snitch. What do you do to help your friend out of this untimely jam?" Gusto's Response: "Marketing research in a saturated environment." |
